Red Drum are still being caught in the creeks just off the Cape Fear River,I had the pleasure of taking John M. Pearson from Durham,N.C. on Sunday.Slot size red drum were caught on carolina rigs and cut bait,fall weather is upon N.C.get out and enjoy the great outdoors !

Fall Fishing

Spanish mackerel bite was exceptional this past weekend,with Lot’s of 3lb. to 4lb. fish being caught right here off Carolina Beach,N.C.
Af few king mackerel were also caught right here on the beach,blue fish are beginning to run the surf again !
Red Drum fishing has been good since early spring,expecting the speckle trout bite to start soon.

National Hunting & Fishing Day September 27,2008 this is a day we as American’s celebrate our hunting and fishing heritage. I urge all families to take time to set this day aside to enjoy the great outdoors,for as Americans we are truly blessed.
I am a North Carolina resident living in Carolina Beach,N.C. I know from a life time of hunting and fishing that,we should not take the outdoors for granted,but should do our part to pass on this wonderful heritage for our children to enjoy.

Red Drum bite along the Cape Fear River is still going strong with large slot size fish being caught fishing with Capt.Mike Dennis the Cape Fear Guide. Gary Ward chartered the boat yesterday,with expectation of catching some red drum,he brought along a couple of his old time fishing buddies,to enjoy a day of inshore fishing with the Cape Fear Guide Capt.Mike Dennis.Tide was low first thing in the morning,bite was a little slow,but as the tide started to rise so did the bite,flounder,red drum,and a 26″ speckle trout were landed,making for a enjoyable day of fishing !

This week the Red Drum fishing has been excellant,I have fished up the Cape Fear River on rock piles and caught speckle trout,black drum,and red drum,with top water lures and fished in the smaller creeks of the the Cape Fear River with good catches of Reds !
